In addition to the French language classes, the Alliance Française is proud to introduce French à la carte:
- French Phonetics and Pronunciation: Wondering what makes French such a beautiful language (and sometimes so difficult to pronounce)? This class will provide an introduction to the sound system of French, including correspondences between the written and spoken language, and will involve practice of the most important aspects of French pronunciation. Come prepared to use your vocal chords in a fun and interactive environment!
- France in medieval times: Have you ever wondered about France during medieval times? Are you curious about what the French language was like 500 years ago? This class will introduce you to French life and language during this time period through the study of several extracts of a late prose version of Tristan & Isolde (1554). You will learn how to decipher and read Middle French and how people lived - food, travels, medicine and science for instance.
- French grammar: Join this rapidly paced grammar class with an emphasis on difficult French structures (with Anne).
- "Bon Voyage”: Are you planning a trip to France ? This class will take you on a voyage around the country, stopping in each region, and revealing everything there is to know about France, its history, its traditions, food... It will also cover cultural differences, the dos and the don'ts and it will improve your command of the French language ! Call us if you are interested.
- New service for business executives : Prepare your resume in French in a European format. Learn business vocabulary with Marie-Francoise, our experienced teacher with business background. - Gourmet Classes: Our accomplished French Chef and “food” entertainer, Sylvain Touati, proposes a series of 12 classes (all of them are independent) on The foundations of French cuisine.
