A LA PAGE: AN AFTERNOON AMONGST BOOKS
A STAFE 2026 INITIATIVE - coming 2027
1,300+ BOOKS, ENDLESS STORIES. Magazines, children's books, literary classics, and more — soon available to all!
Books are more than objects. They carry the stories of the people who owned them, cherished them, and sometimes left them behind. Each book has a history, and every new reader adds another chapter to its journey.
At the Alliance Française de la Riviera Californienne, we are proud to give a second home to a collection of French books once belonging to French nationals who, upon returning to France, left their books behind. These volumes have found a new place on our shelves, ready to be discovered, opened, and loved again.
As a French language and cultural center, we accompany our students on their journey toward a closer relationship with the French language and France itself — sometimes even toward French citizenship. It feels only natural to let books become passeurs de savoir, passing knowledge, culture, and stories from one Francophile to another.
With À la Page, we are taking this mission a step further: using books as bridges between people, opening our library to the wider community, and creating a space where French language and culture can be shared by all.
On selected Thursday afternoons, members and non-members alike are invited to join us at the Alliance Française for free reading afternoons. Browse our shelves, discover your next favorite book, or simply enjoy a quiet moment surrounded by stories. Meet fellow French speakers, Francophiles, and lovers of French culture; exchange experiences, discover new perspectives, and take part in talks and activities inspired by literature.
À la Page is an invitation to read, connect, and share — one book at a time.
Made possible by the STAFE 2026 grant from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
